The single was released by mid november during the Australian and Japan leg of The Girlie Show, becoming the sixth and final single from “Erotica”. “Bye bye baby” is Madonna’s 38th single and it was not issued in the United States, only in some European countries, Japan and Australia. Surprisingly, Madonna decided to perform this song at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards and not her current single at the time “Rain”, where she gave us a prelude of what the tour would look like, as this performance was exactly the same as the one on The Girlie Show.
